Individual Counseling

One-on-one counseling sessions help the person to better understand the root causes of their addiction. Very often addiction occurs as a way to self-medicate, rather than deal with underlying trauma or feelings of being overwhelmed by problems in life. In individual therapy, you will be helped to recognize the underlying causes of your addiction, work through any trauma that may have occurred, and learn tools to effectively manage the stressors in life, that we all have. Doing this type of work frees you from many of the burdens you have been carrying, and leads to a happier, more fulfilled life.

Group Counseling

Group counseling sessions are particularly useful for individuals who struggle with addiction and recovery. The group provides a safe, nonjudgmental place where you can discuss issues specific to addiction with others who have gone through the same difficulties. Healing takes place in knowing that others understand your struggles, thereby making you feel less alone and isolated. Group members share experiences and coping strategies. The group provides its members with a sense of community and fellowship.

Family and Parenting Counseling

Addiction not only affects the person who suffers from the addiction, but their entire family as well. The family needs to heal from the trauma of addiction, just as the addict needs to heal from this trauma. Members of the family need to voice their feelings, fears and concerns. Addiction can often tear a family apart. Family therapy provides a way for the family to heal and re-establish strong and supportive bonds.
