Why is the comprehensive treatment offered by the GHR Addiction Recovery Center so effective?
Opioid and heroin, as well as other substance abuse addictions are difficult problems to treat. Many of the older methods of treatment were unsuccessful and the relapse rate was very high. At the GHR center for addiction for opioid treatment and recovery we use modern cutting-edge treatments.
We are educated in, and fully compliant with, the most recent treatment recommendations of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine), SAMHSA (Substance Abuse Mental Health Service Administration) and AAAP (American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry). These principles of treatment, employ empirically grounded, proven methods for addiction recovery. We understand that each person is unique, so we customize treatment to address each person’s specific needs.
At the GHR Center for Addiction Treatment and Recovery we have developed a comprehensive and highly effective four-part program:
- MAT “Medically Assisted Treatment” (such as Suboxone treatment in the case of opioid addiction) under the supervision of a Medical Doctor
- Substance abuse/behavioral/mental health individual, family and group therapy
- Psychopharmacological (psychiatric) medication (when indicated)
- Education and Ongoing Support
When you enter our program help will be given to you AND your family (because addiction not only affects the individual but profoundly affects the family as well).
MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) programs have the highest success rate of all addiction and recovery programs. In the case of opioid addiction, our MAT program typically uses Suboxone which helps to curb withdrawal symptoms, thereby making recovery easier and more effective.
Research shows that Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combined with counseling and education is the most effective form of treatment in producing a healthy and permanent recovery. Medication enables you to end your addiction. Substance abuse/ behavioral/mental health counseling helps you understand the underlying reasons and stressors that led to (or contributed to) your addiction. Education and support offer you new tools to make sure you stay healthy, clean and sober.
